Good food at very reasonable prices

Good food , good service. Manager has an attitude. We asked about seating ( it was a bit crowded) She pointed to a table & threw our menus. Obviously she dislikes her job & shouldn't be working with the public. We won't be back.

Just wanted to say that the owner manager was the crankiest person I’ve ever seen. She was short with the customers and the waitresses were all afraid of her. We would not recommend this place. Terrible atmosphere. Go to Cathy’s around the corner. So much better in every way.

We went for breakfast a couple days while on vacation. Everything was good, all staff is very nice. Do note that they are cash only, so be prepared.

We went there for breakfast yesterday. I got a coffee had to wait 5 minutes to get cream. My wife asked if the tea was sweetened waitress answered I’m not sure. I ordered two eggs over easy with home fries and ham. I received two eggs over hard, dry ham cooked to a crisp, fried potatoes pieces with onion, and wheat toast with butter soaked in the center and nowhere else. My wife got French toast that was ok. I would have returned my meal but we had to wait so long we were worried about missing our boat. GEt a chef who cares about his job.

Great little diner. Food came out quickly and the staff was awesome. Will be back next year!

The good: eggs, pancakes, good waitstaff. The bad: terrible corned beef hash (really), somewhat unpleasant coffee, pretty disorganized management. If you go, you'll probably be fine as long as you don't eat the hash and don't mind a little confusion when you need to be seated or when you need to pay. However, I personally wouldn't go back.

Classic American diner with good basic food, especially breakfast. Comes out fast so you can enjoy your day. French in name only (don't be confused by the Google label - this is not a French restaurant)

Good food before heading out to Heart island. Simple and standard dishes here with the nice, normal dining experience. This place is definitely a key part of Alexandria Bay, and should stay here for years to come!

This place sucks and the wait staff is rude and slow. And the food was not worth it.

Save yourself some trouble, eat at The North Star. Owner was rude and belittling her wait staff so bad. Felt horrible for the waitress and left her a $20. Told her she shouldn't work there.

Food wasn’t very good. Fretatta was over cooked and blueberry pancakes under cooked

First off, it was sooooo hot in here it was completely uncomfortable. It is out dated but clean and well lit for a diner. The menu was a good size and had a lot of options. The food was decent, standard for a diner. The older lady that did the check out was extremely rude, and kept us waiting while we were trying to pay and she just disappears to the back. The worst part? You don't know until you are ready to pay that THEY DON'T TAKE CARDS. I mean, no signs, nothing on the menu, nothing. Forced to use the ATM (because obviously we've already eaten our meal at thos point) with a $2.50 fee and then another $1.00 from my bank means my $25 breakfast for 2 people cost me $28.50 + tip. I knew I didn't have cash, so a sign at the door would have meant I could have gone and gotten cash. I find it so disrespectful to your customers to not say ahead of time that you only take cash, especially on a tourist town.

Food avrage at best, clean but about due for remodeling. CASH ONLY!

I always love going to small diners and restaurants, as it helps the local economy, however I will skip this one next year when I come back to a-bay.The food was good, and it came out very quickly, but the problem I had was with the woman that handled the register. How does an employee ignore 2 separate customers in favor of a phone call about a "lift gate" and proceed to roll her eyes when you ask for a check to be split?It's a shame that it took me saying to her "Don't worry about it, probably never coming here again" for her to actually treat me with an ounce of respect.

Ordered a omelet with shrooms broccoli and swiss cheese, eggs were not done, they took a dollar off my bill, never had an issue with Chez, but never will order a omelet again, just saying. Love,Abay been coming a long time, and will still go to Chez Paris.

Cold coffee. Bland food. They don’t accept credit cards.

Did not like their breakfast. Coffee was super bland. BACON was awful.

Mom-and-pop diner with very little ambience and service that is hitter mess. The food seems to be dependably good and reasonably priced.

Very friendly staff, food was brought in exceptional timing, good atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone I know.

Went there a few years ago with my kids, no one told us up front this place was cash only. The owner gave us attitude when we expressed some issues we were having with the service. Needless to say we will not go back

The food was decent, we had breakfast. They have a fairly large menu. It wasn’t very busy so we were seated right away and the food came out quickly which was nice. However, they don’t take credit cards here. Normally that wouldn’t be a problem but there isn’t a sign or any type of notification of this. It wasn’t until I got to the register to pay (after trying to hand my waitress my credit card and her seeing it and saying “you pay at the register” still not mentioning that they don’t take cards) that a woman told me “I don’t have a credit card machine”. Thank god my boyfriend had cash on him because I didn’t and they also didn’t have an atm that I saw. So I’m not sure what people would do since you’ve already eaten your meal. I suppose you have to go to an atm somewhere else? Very inconvenient.

Great service friendly clean good food

Have been coming here for 17 years and as long as they are open I will continue to eat breakfast here when I come to visit Alex Bay. The food is yummy & the service is very good.

Food was decent, but nothing special. We stood around like fools for a minute until we realized it was self-seating. It was busy but there were still several open tables. The staff seemed disorganized. Took far too long for a server to even acknowledge us (~15 minutes before we even got water). Service was very slow and several tables that arrived after were served before us, likely the fault of our specific waitress. The owner or manager acknowledged our problems however and our food was comped. She was nice; I hope they can improve.

Breakfast and lunch venue. Reasonably priced. Decent food. Very busy at breakfast.

Thought it was very good, little warm inside but its summer!!

Absolutely awful ..... Frozen hash browns frozen sausage all cold ..... And it cost us $60 plus tip for four breakfasts. The only thing that was fresh were the eggs. Brilliant service though Shame about the food ....
